Sitting before vertically stretched cotton warps, our master weavers tie thousands of individual knots every single day. Guided by the traditional Talim—a written code of motifs and colors passed down through bloodlines—each rug takes between four to twelve months to weave. The Sculptor’s Eye: Washing & Precision Shearing
Once a rug descends from the loom, its journey is only half complete. It undergoes an extensive artisanal finishing ritual: natural mountain-water washing to bring out the natural sheen of wool, followed by meticulous hand-shearing. Using heavy, curved iron shears, senior craftsmen trim the pile to an exact, uniform height—a high-stakes technique where a single millimeter of error can alter the surface pattern. The fringes are hand-knotted, edges bound, and every inch inspected to ensure heirloom durability.
